Wild Nothing

NOTE: This is an old post and may be deleted in the future. For now you can read it and reminisce about days when my writing was even worse than it is now. Enjoy!

I don't think that there is a song by Wild Nothing that I don't like. Jack Tatum and his crew make probably some of the most chillest music I have ever heard.

Wild Nothing Is Jack Tatum's groovy Dream-Pop gift to the world. Now, if some of you aren't as enthusiastic about music as I am, you might not know what Dream-Pop is. So I shall bequeath unto you this snippet from Wikipedia's page on Dream-Pop. You can read the full article here.

"The essence of the music is a focus on ethereal textures and moods, rather than on propulsive rock riffs. Breathy, high-register female vocals or almost whispered male vocals"

It's pleasant, soothing, and always leaves me with a smile on my face and not a care in my mind. Wild Nothing started back in 2009 (in Virginia. REPRESENT!) and will hopefully be moving and grooving for many many years.

He currently has two albums out right now called Gemini and Golden Haze. You can check out a couple of his songs here and if you like them, make sure you give him some $$$ over at his page

Small Black

NOTE: This is an old post and may be deleted in the future. For now you can read it and reminisce about days when my writing was even worse than it is now. Enjoy!

See that man head banging wildly to Weird Machines by Small Black? Oh yeah that's right you can't see me. I guess that's good actually because now you don't have to be subjected me singing every word to this amazing song.

First off, you're welcome. And if you're not digging these guys as much as I am, what's wrong with you! I'm sorry you feel that way.

Small Black is an electronic/chillwave band from Brooklyn, NY that's been putting together some pretty rad EP's and CD's since late 2009.

But enough of me talking about how much I love them. Here are some of their best songs, in my opinion. These guys put out a new mix-tape pretty recently. You can find said mix-tape here (at their website!)

I tried my hardest to get an embedded file of Weird Machines but there are none so here's a link to their Myspace page

Cloud Nothings

NOTE: This is an old post and may be deleted in the future. For now you can read it and reminisce about days when my writing was even worse than it is now. Enjoy!

I saw this guy with really far-out glasses yesterday at Chipotle. He reminded me of Cloud Nothings' Lead Singer Dylan Baldi. It also reminded me that I am in desperate need of some really awesome glasses but that's beside the point.

Cloud Nothings is such a great band. One of my favorites actually. They're a lo-fi noise-pop band from Cleveland with two totally kick-ass albums and couple just as good singles.

It's hard to choose just a couple songs to show you guys how cool these guys are but here's a couple that I think are exceptionally good. If you like these songs be sure to check their other songs out!

Here's their iTunes page http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/cloud-nothings/id377952839

Rites

NOTE: This is an old post and may be deleted in the future. For now you can read it and reminisce about days when my writing was even worse than it is now. Enjoy!

The first band to feature on this blog was a tough decision. In fact, the right blogging site was a tough decision! In the end I went with Google's Blogger and with the most indie band I knew of; the one no one but a few people know of!

This band is Rites. They are a two-man band from Chicago with a really nice dance/electronic sound. They released their first EP, just simply called Rites EP in April of 2011 and are currently working on their next.

Below is their newest song called Pinch. It can be found on their SoundCloud page and on their website along with all their other songs. Be sure to check them out, the songs are free to download too!
